Let 2014 roll...

So the last day of school holidays has come and gone and "last years" study got an overhaul, as a fresh and positive new school year begins.
(Hopefully a cleaner year, but I'm not holding my breath)

The "merit wall" also got a clean and will hopefully be as full this coming December! Can you believe we are already well into Feb?!?! Life is flying by.

With mere moments on Monday to leave the house and get to school on time, Lulu announces, "Mum I really want my hair to be like Elsa's" (from 'Frozen'). Nothing like pressure when you have to get the token 'first day shot' and Elsa's updo all within a micro second of time. Poor girl, I told her it looked like a beautiful crown from behind ;)

(poor kid)

The big guys went off without a hitch and the little fella just kept on keeping on!
Then enter 'Daddy day-care'!
Hubby took annual leave for the first three days of school as I had to attend an orientation week for my  dipEd (I'm still shaking in my boots at the thought of how I will cope but that's another story).
Anyway, on day three I got a text at 8am saying: "Lucy home sick, Muscles forgot his lunchbox and Bear is snotty….I think I'm getting my period, going to have a cry now..."
Well, I laughed out loud. The days events were perfect and I couldn't have planned 'a day in my life' better if I tried.
But he got through daddy-day-care with flying colours and thumbs up from all 4 kids.
My house was clean from top to toe, dinners were made and the ironing was hung.
Thanks mi amore x

He bounced off to work this morning, life was good again!

In more news: we celebrated my brothers birthday last weekend with all of the extended fam, Nana's stripy tomatoes are looking very pretty, and the evenings are still stretching out long enough for a run on the lawn after dinner.

And that's it folks. Despite this disjointed post, I am slowly getting my 2014 blogger's mojo back into gear.

Much Love
Liv x

  1. Hello! Gosh, that text is fantastic, love it. Men are so bloody capable when given free range of the house. I went overseas for a wedding and left Mr H in charge. Everything went so smoothly I feared I could possibly be out of a job. Here's to 2014!!! xo

    1. Thank Erin, another nice idea is to have a "memory/achievenment jar" and as memorable things happen in the family, or goals are achieved write them down and pop them in the jar…open it on New Years eve and read them together! (Bron from 'Maxabella Loves' does this and i think its a beautiful tradition) x

I have to say I don't have as much faith in my husband's ability to run this ship, me of little faith. Enjoy 2014.

  5. Hi Liv! I am going to borrow your merit wall idea - in previous years they've been propped up on the shelf for a few weeks then shoved in the "miscellaneous drawer". We all have one of those don't we? Good luck for the Dip Ed! You will be great! We need to have a coffee soon, chat to you during the week xxxT
