Fessing up to embarrassing moments this week.

I'm not sure if it's that I'm in the busiest month of the year to date or that Spring has taken my mind to dizzying heights, but I'm not quite present at the moment.

1. On Monday with Lulu and her little friend Max in the car Lulu asks: "Mum how come Bella's chicken eggs didn't turn into chickens?"
I replied: "Well because if the mummy chook doesn't sit on them long enough and warm them they don't grow into chickens".
(silence for a bit) then 6 y.o. Max pipes up: "No Mrs Denahy, it's because they need a rooster to make chickens".
"yes of course" I replied.

boy did I feel stupid! Luckily the topic was averted and we didn't have to launch into "the talk", Max probably knew more than me anyway!

2. Then yesterday I drove about 10kms without realising I had the "eventual left" blinking away.

3. And lastly, winning the gong of moments, immediately after the "eventual left" scenario I jumped out of the car with a $50 note and my mobile. You never think you'll need that basket when you go in for just one item, but after my tenth and running out of tentacles, I frisked for a pocket to put my mobile in, only to find the elastic of my gym pants (just so you know it was at the back under my shirt) but moments later I was sporting a rectangular poo. I wasn't sure what to do, reach in and risk the humiliation of locals thinking I have worms, or leave it there and pretend there is absolutely nothing wrong with having your mobile dangling at the rear.
Well I would have risked the worm humiliation had I a spare hand, but the fact was I didn't, so a rectangular poo it was until I reached the counter.

....and NO, I'm not pregnant, but I'm sure glad it's warm today, I'm going to finish up my chores and have a much needed cuppa in the sun to comfort my pride.

Have you done anything recently I should know about, that would perhaps make me feel better?

With Love and a bowed head,
Liv xo

  1. Don't worry, I am breastfeeding which means I forget people I know, can't remember names and once drove to kinder to collect a child but walked right on past the door and to the end of the street before snapping out of it and wondering where I was!
Haven't done a mobile down the pants yet though I must say!

  2. I did make it home from school one day with only three kids. The teachers found it quite amusing when I had to drive back in to collect little Miss No. 4.

  3. Ha! I was going to ask whether you were pregnant! :-) I do things like this all the time. Briefly forgetting a child, filling the shopping trolley with groceries when I've left the credit card at home etc Enjoy your lovely sunny Spring weather - we had snow today! Mel x

    1. Did you put all of your stuff through or did you realise before you got to the counter?
I put all my stuff through....they have had to wheel my trolley into the back freezers twice now, so embarrassing!

  4. Haha, love it. I have a newborn to go with my toddler now so have MANY examples of this - I wrote a post about the funniest examples just last week! My favourite is making a cuppa then putting the kettle in the fridge and trying to plug the milk into the kettle heating unit.

I almost snorted Milo all over the screen reading about your rectangular poo!

I have to say, I'm one of those people who really only gets embarrassed in front of people that I actually know. Strangers can't hurt me. x

  7. Hi Liv, thanks for a good ol' giggle... the 'saying no' to camp thing is all before us, good on you guys...though our problem will be Noah has nothing to busk with??? Mmm might enrol him in guitar lessons tomorrow as he'll be doing a fair bit of busking in the future ;)I went to a funeral today and only realised in the car on the way home that I had a streak of navy eyeliner across my forehead (vertical, baby Lola had been playing it whilst I said my goodbyes - and in the following 20 min car trip I failed to look in the mirror even once - seriously who does that?)... an Our Father, some hymns and a lot of hugging later and no-one thought to ask me if I had joined a hippie-Hindi-Goth movement...but, thank you, you're rectangular poo made me feel much better about myself ;) We're glad the FFF is back too, forgot how fun it is,

    1. You could start a trend Jo, a navy streak is the bindi!
It's a bit like the poppy seed in the foot tooth scenario or the flapping booger with each breath !!!
I hear you are visiting Kat on Thurs, I might pop my overweight frame in for a cake or two. x
